about

Hewa exists to honor Hawaiian and Native cultures and to spit in the face of colonialism and it's western god whose pervasive words eagerly seek to silence and destroy our ancestors wisdom. While they seek the final nail to sink into our supposed coffins, our wills grow stronger, our souls more resolute. We will burn the effigies of their conquering christ. We will tear down their banners and their monuments. We will uproot their institutions that have perverted the minds of the people.
Their missionaries came with their "benevolent" lord and where there was light, harmony, and peace their alleged savior brought with him disease, animosity and mass death. They came not with open arms but rather bearing nothing more than closed minds, bibles, and forceful land grabs fueled by greed. With their ignorant chins held high they proclaimed that we were the godless savages. Their "peaceful" religion was really just a means to indoctrinate us to turn the other cheek while they stole everything.
